Nomination Criteria
Deadline for Nominations: September 18, 2009
The Pine Tree Chapter of the American Red Cross is searching for ordinary individuals who have demonstrated an act of heroism.
At the Thirteenth Annual Real Heroes Breakfast at the Bangor Civic Center on November 19, 2009, we will honor those people who have shown courage, kindness, and unselfish character.
An advisory committee of community leaders will select the Real Heroes chosen for recognition at the Real Heroes Breakfast. All nominees will be invited to the breakfast and will be recognized at the award program.
Nominees must meet the following criteria to be considered for the Real Heroes Awards:
1. The nominee(s) must live in, study in, or be employed in Penobscot, Piscataquis, Washington, Waldo, Knox, or Hancock County.
2. The nominee(s) must have performed his, her or their heroic act between July 1, 2008 and Sept 1, 2009.
3. Nomination Statement – nominations must state clearly and in as much detail as possible the incident that deserves a Real Heroes award.
4. Supporting Documentation – Nominations should include any supporting reports, news articles, or names and telephone numbers of witnesses.
